Turning Back to What Our Forefathers Built

By Heather Maude

Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light
— President George Washington

On the way to the USDA press conference, we were struggling with the many unknowns we still faced. Our attorney finally asked if we knew what we had just accomplished? He said only five percent of all criminal cases are ever dismissed. That they would have sent us to jail. Broke us. Destroyed our family legacy. That we had just won the Superbowl of the legal world. That while there was still work to do, we needed to pause and celebrate this enormous, nearly unheard-of victory. Recognize that we are part of President Trump and his cabinet turning back to what our forefathers built our government to be.

So we did.

And we followed that up by showing our children all that Washington DC has to offer.

Now we go back to our beloved home in South Dakota. Where we will continue to work to resolve this issue so we can return to farming and ranching as we knew it before March 29, 2024.

In response to the unlawful persecution of the Maude family by the U.S. Forest Service, the Trump Administration has created an online portal where, “potential farmer, rancher, and USDA customers who have fallen victim to unfair and politically motivated lawfare originating under the Biden Administration” can report the lawfare used against them to the current USDA.
