Beef Imports and the Product of the USA Fraud

By Jim Mundorf

Most people don't realize that beef imported into the United States is still allowed to have a Product of the USA label on it as long as it is packaged in a U.S. packing plant. Two of the four corporate beef packers that control the U.S. beef supply are Brazilian owned. Imports from Brazil have increased 165% during the first five months of 2021, while the U.S. cattle markets, have suffered.

Also explained, is how importing beef packers have less regulations than small U.S. beef lockers and small ranchers trying to sell direct to the public.

Here is an eye opening video from the USDA explaining how wonderful the Mandatory Country of Origin Label is for food products imported into the USA. Unfortunately this does not apply to beef.
